Dropins ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Dropins mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App.

The App is currently in a testing phase. Features, data handling practices, and this policy may change as the product evolves.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide

• Profile information — your first name, last name, and optional bio that you enter when creating your profile.
• Messages — the content of conversations you have with other users during active 24-hour connection windows.
• Authentication data — your email address or phone number used to sign in.

b) Information Collected Automatically

• Location data — with your permission, we collect your device's GPS coordinates to enable proximity-based discovery of other users near you. Location data is used to compute a geohash for efficient nearby-user queries and is not shared with third parties.
• Device and usage data — device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and general usage patterns to help us diagnose issues and improve the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To show you other users who are nearby (location-based discovery).
• To facilitate connections and messaging between users.
• To display your profile to other users within discovery range.
• To manage the 24-hour connection lifecycle (creation, expiration, cleanup).
• To send you notifications about new connections, messages, and expirations.
• To debug, improve, and maintain the App during the testing period.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on infrastructure provided by Supabase, hosted in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), row-level security policies, and authenticated API access to protect your data.

No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, especially during the testing phase.

4. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties. Your data is only shared with:

• Supabase — our infrastructure and database provider, which processes data on our behalf to operate the App.

We do not use third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or data brokers.

5. Data Retention

During the testing phase, we retain your data for as long as your account is active. Expired connections and their associated messages may be periodically cleaned up.

Since the App is in testing, all data may be deleted or reset at any time without notice as part of ongoing development.

6. Your Rights and Choices

• Location permissions — you can revoke location access at any time through your device settings. The App requires location to function, so discovery features will be unavailable without it.
• Account deletion — you may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at lucas.meletis@gmail.com.
• Data access — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by emailing us.

7. Age Requirement

The App is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a user under 18, we will delete that information promptly.

8. Cookies and Website Tracking

The Dropins website (dropins.ai) is a static site and does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics scripts.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly as the App moves beyond the testing phase. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
